The Food Sector

I have maintained a particular interest in the food sector. With years of experience in this sector from, both the management side as well as the design side, I have a strong understanding of the requirements that make an outstanding brand as well as the inner-workings of the production line and distribution process. If you require brand design/development or label/package design for your product contact me and we'll have a chat.

Samples of my label designs can be seen in the Portfolio section.

A Bit About Me

I began my career in graphic design in 1991 creating concept sketches for an interactive entertainment company in New York City. I moved on to freelance for a multi-national cosmetics company creating mock-ups for products and packaging.

In 1995, I moved to Connecticut to work as chief designer for a virtual reality company specialising in training simulators, interactive trade show applications and museum exhibits. Working on fascinating projects in a vast range of business sectors gave me the opportunity to collaborate, literally, with brain surgeons and rocket scientists.

Throughout this period I developed an interest in nutrition and sustainability. This compelled me to try my hand in the food sector. I moved to Ireland In 2000 with my friend, and business partner, Brendan McHugh, where we co-founded Smooth Brothers, Ltd: a premium smoothie company that gained critical attention as the producer of a high-quality product with a fresh and unique brand.

In 2004 I returned to full-time design. With my combination of management experience and practical skills, I am capable of meeting the needs of companies seeking innovative and creative design solutions.

My work has been published in The Sunday Times, The Irish Times, The Independent, The Metro, 3D Design magazine, Computer Graphics World magazine, Issues and Backpacker magazine.
